Happy RED Friday Everyone! (RED = Remember Everyone Deployed)
Welcome to Low Tide—our brand-new weekly email! Big hello to all the new subscribers and a hearty “Hey y’all!” to those of you who’ve followed me over from my last gig. If this is your first time getting one of these, thanks for letting us drop into your inbox. If you enjoy it, stick around—we’re just getting started! If not, hit delete… but know you’re breaking a little piece of my heart.
Why “Low Tide”?
Well, if you’ve ever spent time near the ocean, you know tides roll in and out twice a day. At high tide, everything gets covered up—sandbars, oyster beds, driftwood, even the occasional sunken shrimp boat. But at low tide, it all comes into view—good, bad, weird, and wonderful.
That’s the spirit of this weekly email. At Low Tide, we’re rolling back the waves to share what’s been happening—honest, unfiltered highlights (and bloopers) from the past week in my life, at the station, and maybe even yours. Think of it as pulling back the curtain on the salty, sandy, sometimes silly reality behind the mic.
And yes, I’m planning to turn this into a podcast down the road. Stay tuned!
Waycross Went Wild
Austin and Juniper “hit the road” this week for a live (sort of) broadcast from the Plant Café in Waycross for their Thursday night Business After Hours event. Okay, so they weren’t actually there, but if you were listening, you wouldn’t know the difference—we’re that good.
We sent along some Low Country Radio goody bags filled with koozies, pens, and just enough charm to make folks smile. Judging by the pictures and buzz online, the event was a hit. Hats off to Steve and the Plant Café crew for knocking it out of the park!
Even better? We’ll now be broadcasting live every Thursday night from 7–9 PM from the Café! So come for the tater tots, stay for the tunes.
Panthers & Pigskin
We’ve officially partnered with Liberty County High School to bring Friday night football back to your speakers—and we’re also covering Georgia State University on Saturdays. That’s double Panther power!
Friday Night Lights and Saturday Game Days? You bet.
We're actively looking for sponsors for these broadcasts and are creating printed game schedules with sponsor logos. Want your business seen by a whole bunch of diehard fans? Let’s chat @ lowcountryradio@gmail.com
Guess Who’s Back? Charlie Moon!
Yep, our very own sports guy Charlie Moon is back! He’s working on launching a weekly sports talk show and may be picking up play-by-play duties for another local high school (details coming soon!).
This means—drumroll—we’ll likely be running two high school games every Friday night. That’s right, a sports stream is coming back to Low Country Radio. One game on the mainstream, one on the sports stream. Two towns. Two teams. One Friday night.
Adopt-A-Pet + Sponsor Alert
Love animals? So do we. We post a daily adoptable pet on our socials and are looking for a caring sponsor to help support the cause. Our posts get thousands of views—your support could help a furry friend find a home (and boost your business visibility).

🎙 Funny Moment of the Week: “Well, That Wasn’t Muted…”
This week during our Thursday night test run for the live broadcast from The Plant Café, I accidentally left my mic hot while I was trying to wrangle some stubborn cables under the table. Let’s just say my commentary on tangled cords and “why does this thing only work when I hold it exactly like this” made it onto the stream for a solid 90 seconds.
If you tuned in early, you got a real behind-the-scenes treat—complete with a few mumbled frustrations, a near sneeze, and me asking out loud if anyone had seen the duct tape.
Lesson learned: always double-check the mute button. And maybe don’t narrate your own technical difficulties like it's a nature documentary.
We Want to Hear From You!
What do you want in Low Tide? Local stories? Weird news? Behind-the-scenes radio chaos? Let me know. Also, hit me with your thoughts about the station—what you love, what you want more of, or what songs you want to hear on the Thursday night show.
Until next week—stay kind, be grateful, lift each other up, and always look out for each other. Keep those going through hard times in your prayers.
And remember: ☀️ Stay safe ☀️ Stay strong ☀️ And don’t forget the sunscreen!
With good vibes and sandy toes,
Low Country Radio
